The 14th Annual Cypress Police Foundation Police Appreciation Luncheon was another tremendous success!

A sold-out crowd gathered to enjoy a delicious Mediterranean buffet while celebrating and recognizing this year’s deserving honorees and the outstanding men and women of the Cypress Police Department.

This year, we were especially proud to recognize five individuals whose service, dedication, and commitment exemplify the very best of our department and community:

Officer of the Year — Jordon Keiely
Employee of the Year — Tammy Zapotosky
Volunteer of the Year — Stephen Ciolek
Citizen of the Year — Chhaumra Chea
Service with Distinction — Loree Erpelding

Congratulations to each of this year’s honorees, and thank you for the important contributions you make to the Cypress community.

One of the highlights of this year’s luncheon was an impressive live drone demonstration, giving guests the opportunity to see firsthand the capabilities of this remarkable technology. The presentation capped off the Cypress Police Foundation’s donation to the Cypress Police Department in support of its drone program.

The drone program and supporting equipment will provide tremendous benefits to the department for years to come. This technology can assist officers in a wide variety of situations, enhance officer safety and community safety, provide valuable information during critical incidents, and potentially help officers solve crimes more quickly and efficiently.

The Cypress Police Foundation is proud to continue supporting programs, equipment, and technology that provide our police officers with additional tools to help them serve and protect our community.

The event brought together members of the Cypress community, neighboring cities, and civic leaders in a heartfelt show of appreciation for the Cypress Police Department. Each year, this gathering offers an opportunity to recognize the exceptional service and dedication of our officers and professional staff—and 2024 was no exception. From award presentations to personal stories of service, the luncheon served as a powerful reminder of the commitment our department brings to keeping our city safe.

Months of planning go into making this signature event a success. More than just a ceremony, the luncheon offers a chance for the community to connect directly with the men and women behind the badge. Attendees shared a delicious meal, meaningful conversations, and the warm camaraderie that has become a tradition at this annual celebration.

Their commitment ensures that we can continue to highlight and uplift the essential work of our police department year after year. 11th Annual Cypress Police Appreciation Luncheon

The Cypress Police Foundation was proud to sponsor our 11th annual Cypress Police Appreciation Luncheon. Once again the Cypress community and members from surrounding cities gathered around to honor the work of the Cypress Police Department, and celebrate the contributions of this year's award recipients.

There are many hours that go into the preparation of this annual event. It is the Foundation’s opportunity to showcase to our City and its environs, our police officers and police staff and the great work they do year round in protecting all of us. It is a fun event at the same time. The participants enjoy a great meal and camaraderie as attendees sit side by side with our community partners.

Such an event would not be possible but for the generous financial support of corporate citizens. Elsewhere on our website, we acknowledge these great companies and their generosity. We are also proud of the many individual citizens that not only attend the Luncheons but are generous in their financial support as well.

With a filled to capacity Cypress Community Center, the 10th Annual Police Foundation Appreciation Luncheon was held May 17, 2022. The Cypress Police Foundation has been proud to sponsor these Luncheons since 2011. It is a signature project of the Foundation and it has grown in its size, visibility and recognition over the years.

There are many hours that go into the preparation of this annual event that is timed to run precisely from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It is the Foundation’s opportunity to showcase to our City and its environs, our police officers and police staff and the great work they do year round in protecting all of us. It is a fun event at the same time. The participants enjoy a great meal and camaraderie as attendees sit side by side with our community partners.  The color guard, the bagpipes, the awards ceremony are all a part of the event.
